I would think that abortion can be fought in court based on the fact that a huge majority of states have fetal homicide laws, making the injury to a mother where the baby dies punishable as a homicide. If it is murder for a baby that dies when the mother is assaulted, then it is a murder at any time. How can a court allow a baby to be killed when the mother says that they don’t want the baby? What stops them from “after birth abortions” at any age. It’s not the mothers decision as to when life begins!

Not surprising. The Democrat party Prime Directive has been “KILL THE BABY” since about 1970.
It's not THEIR bodies that are being torn apart. And failing to exercise control of their own bodies is what got them in that condition.
Ectopic pregnancy - collapsed in street and was rushed to hospital in the back of an ambulance. Patient unconscious. Emergency hysterectomy performed.
Death in utero - picked up on a delayed routine ultrasound, total bolt out of the blue. My wife and I were together when the scan revealed our unborn child had already died. I’m not sure about the safety aspects of effectively carrying a corpse around for months but it doesn’t sound healthy to me, physically or psychologically.
Granted those events were many years ago and I don’t live in a country that endorses late term abortion except under medical imperative circumstances e.g. where a live birth is unlikely and continuing to term would threaten the life of the mother. In both cases, though, an emergency C-section would be preferred over an abortion.
I actually can’t think of any occasion in my lifetime where an abortion has been performed after 14 weeks, under any circumstances beyond a medical emergency. After 18 weeks, C-section or induces birth is far more likely to be approved.
The ONLY people I know who conflate these scenarios here are
1. Religious fundamentalists (including Jehovah’s Witnesses and the culty types my mum had the misfortunes to live with).
2. Die-hard feminazis.
3. Idiots who literally cannot tell the difference between an already dead embryo/fetus, a fetus that won’t survive to term without invasive medical attention, a viable fetus that’ll need medical attention to survive after birth, and a totally viable, healthy unborn baby.
A healthy woman walks into a clinic to kill a healthy pregnancy... Totally indefensible but ONLY avoidable if you can explore the reasons why she’s doing it and pitch a workable alternative... That might even mean the state paying for a C-section and immediate transfer into a fostering/adoption process. Desired outcomes trump unhelpful ideologies there.
And, with a still birth or ectopic pregnancy, yes I’ve heard anti abortion morons gloss right over the fact that in either case there’s no murder unless you kill the mum to save the corpse. One of Trump’s endorsed candidates was that much of a fundamentalist and it didn’t surprise me that a lot of pro life women voted against him. Realism trumped fundamentalism there.
And people wonder why there may be anti-semitics out there with this type of comments from a “Rabbi”. Most of us would not lump all Jewish people with this person but some might. This is why we are divided as a nation. Where is the respect for others? Where is the caring and hope that things will be ok? And no I don’t think God is in any hurry to send Jesus back right now. I guess He wants this world to get a heck of a lot worse before He acts. Pray up folks...it’s just the beginning. Look up the new World Religion Center that the Pope and the Muslims are talking about.
