Temperance is a Cardinal Virtue.

Okay, you claim you have a lot of evidence that there were a lot of vaccine-caused deaths, but there were still a lot of fentanyl-caused deaths too. Look at the sheer quantity of fentanyl that the police are confiscating.

“During the “lockdown” we were encouraged to drink alcohol. Liquor stores remained open but many other types of businesses were forced to close.”

True alcoholics are dangerous when they can’t get the fix. They can also die from Grand Mal seizures.

What a load of garbage. This is one of those purpose driven "studies" designed to validate what the author wants to prove. Notice how it lumps alcohol in with homicide as if it's alcohol causing the death. Most murders are committed by young inner city black men. That group also tends to drink a lot, there's a reason there are liquor stores all over the place in the ghetto. They're not committing murder because they drink a lot, they're committing murder because they're thugs. Thugs tend to drink a lot also, it goes with the territory. You could just as easily claim wearing Nike shoes causes death because 9 out of 10 murderers are wearing them. Correlation doesn't equal causation.

More garbage agenda driven "research" masquerading as science.

Drunk decides to play it safe and get a cab. The cab gets into an accident and someone dies.

The death is marked down as "alcohol related".

I’ve never made such a claim. I was being a bit sarcastic. In every thread about a young person’s death, the anti-vaxxers can’t wait to blame it on the vaccines. According to them, 100% of the excess deaths are solely attributable to the vaccines.

I only have anecdotal evidence of a few reports like that.

But hearing that even just a few cases like that got incorrectly assigned to the wrong cause makes me doubt the overall statistics.

I realize you’re being facetious but think of how many hours a man has to work to afford the amount of alcohol it takes to achieve alcoholism. Now, compare that investment with how many hours a man had to work in, say any time before the mid twentieth century to afford or produce a like number of calories. Not alcohol, but just calories. When life is a constant struggle just to feed yourself and your family you don’t so much invest your money or time in alcohol. Although there have been alcoholics since probably caveman days it must have been nearly impossible for the average guy to manage to die of alcoholism. Until fiat money and the incredible economy of modern times. My point is that alcoholism, smoking deaths and weight related deaths are, for average man, a new phenomenon. Not that they haven’t always existed, but they were never as common as they are today. I think that they do exist today is a combination of our fabulous economy, genetics, and social failings.

I quit two years ago. At 62, I’ve started a new business, gotten healthy by exercising, and am happier than ever. I always say alcohol doesn’t do anything for you, just to you.

I think you’re largely correct but I think in the past a lot of poor people drank themselves to death on home brew moon shine, etc. Your point certainly stands; never in the history of mankind have so many intoxicating substances been available for so cheap…. I mean you can OD on fentanyl for just a few bucks.
