House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy declared victory on Tuesday saying that Republicans had secured enough seats to flip control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
"I want to thank the millions of supporters across this country," said McCarthy, R-Calif. "It is clear we are going to take the House back."
McCarthy told a throng of supporters at a victory party in Washington, D.C, that the feat was possible because of the diverse array of candidates Republicans had recruited this cycle.
"If you believe in freedom, hard work and the American dream these results prove there is a place for you in the Republican Party," said McCarthy. "We are expanding this party."
The comments came despite control for the House of Representatives being too close to call. While Republicans had succeeded in ousting vulnerable Democrats, a significant number of House races had yet to be called.

My very observation earlier this morning at another website. Not sure we should limit it just to NY....
I don’t get the impression that DeSantis even wants the job. And if anything Trump’s words are meant to discourage DeSantis from running.
The leader of the Stupid Party has spoken.
Start with who Hunter termed the "Chief Spy of China" Patrick Ho of their joint venture CEFC, rendition him and JiaQi Bao if necessary, put Hunter after his indictment(s) in with the J6 prisoners; and we know what follows -- Impeachment becomes a necessity, but there is a winning script.
I like to look at 2 presidential terms and Pres. Trump would be 86 at the end of the 2nd term. Hypothetically, of course.
So the age factor, if nothing else, doesn’t encourage my Trump primary vote, much as I appreciate him.
And then there’s that too. Pubs seem just as satisfied to be in the minority, maybe more so.
Move Memorial Day to Tuesday, and use that as a single day for voting—while reflecting on our country’s sacrifices.
That’s about the same as a participation trophy. BFD. Where’s the tsunami?
Because we're talking about squish McCarthy, I initially read the headline as: "Kevin McCarthy declares GOP will take majority in the House, pushes Pelosi as speaker"
Understandable.
Well good thing in all this is that there ARE limits to what the Democrats can achieve even with cheating.
Basically a repeat of 2020. Did super well in Florida, and then disappointed for the rest of the country.
Either the polls were totally wrong and there was never a point that the GOP was leading with independents or the election was stolen.
***Texas Congresswoman Mayra Flores suggested, “The RED WAVE did not happen. Republicans and Independents stayed home. DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE RESULTS IF YOU DID NOT DO YOUR PART!”***
