“Doesn’t the prefix “de” mean opposite? “

“De” means “from” or “about.” Ron is “from the Saints.”

It can sort of mean “opposite” for verbs, as it involves un-doing something, like to “decertify” is to remove from being being certified, to “declassify” is to remove from classification, etc.
