Walker looks like a runoff. Sec. of State site shows 100% reporting now and Warnock did not make 50%, still at just 49.4% and Walker at 48.5%. I would think the Libertarian candidate took votes from Walker and not Warnock.
I haven’t seen this posted yet. Wisconsin is called for GOP’s Johnson.
Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson projected to win close reelection bid
NBC and CNN have called the race for Johnson over Democrat challenger Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes.
“I would think the Libertarian candidate took votes from Walker and not Warnock.”
My rule of thumb, which I can’t actually prove at all, is that in normal cases a Libertarian takes votes in a 2 to 1 margin from a Republican over a Democrat.
Of course you can’t take it too literally and say: if a Libtard got 12,000 votes then 8,000 of them were stolen from the R and 4,000 from the D. If the Libtard weren’t on the ballot, his voters may have skipped that race altogether or voted for a different third-party candidate if one was available.
But the very general assumption that Libs take more votes from Republicans than Democrats (in most cases) is totally valid. You can tell, if in no other way, by how Democrats ensure the Libtards show up on ballots (and are funded by Democrats) whenever the Rats think the Libertarian could prove to be the spoiler — in their favor.
Funny how our side never does the same thing regarding Green Party candidates.
