And of course it has been going on for years. The 1960 presidental election for one. LBJ’s first run for the senate in 1946 I believe.

And more recently, Bob Dornan loss in California, Coleman’s loss in Minnesota AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY’S refusal to fight.

Lyndon Johnson lost his first Senate run in 1941 in a special election. "Beer, Inc." wanted Pappy O'Daniel out of the governor's chair and in DC where he could do no harm to their interests. They stole the election for O'Daniel.

In 1948 Johnson ran again and cheated his way past Coke Stevenson in the incident of the famous missing ballot box.
