I wouldn't put that in the "good news" category, but it's at least a hold of a Senate seat.

The problem is the ranked choice voting.

The Democrat in third place has 9.2% of the vote. If the Democrats put Murkowski as their 2nd choice thinking she's the closest to being a Democrat, then Murkowski will win the second round of voting.

I really can't see true Democrats putting a conservative as their second choice when they know that Murkowski swings their way every now and then.

Walker in Georgia has underperformed vs every single Republican running statewide in Georgia. They all won. If he managed to keep Warnock under 50% I don’t expect he’ll win a run off. Voters won’t show up for him but hoards will show up for Warnock. If anything, Kemp almost pulled him over the goal line.

Most of the five precincts still to report appear to be Warnock territory.

Candidates matter.

Those of us who like Trump have a lot of reflection ahead about whether it’s time to move on from him for the good of the movement and the party and the country. In high profile competitive races his picks didn’t do so well.
