So out of curiosity I googled the definition of “monitor”

Here are the three definitions given:

Noun

1. an instrument or device used for observing, checking, or keeping a continuous record of a process or quantity.

2. a television receiver used in a studio to select or verify the picture being broadcast from a particular camera.

Verb

3. observe and check the progress or quality of (something) over a period of time; keep under systematic review.

(I’m going to go with #3 while connected to wifi)

A day before the midterm elections, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Monday that its Civil Rights Division plans to dispatch teams to monitor polls in 64 voting jurisdictions in a total of 24 states “for compliance with federal voting rights laws.”

...

The jurisdictions named in the release included five counties in Arizona (Maricopa, Navajo, Pima, Pinal and Yavapai), three in Georgia (Cobb, Fulton and Gwinnett County) and five in Pennsylvania (Berks, Centre, Lehigh, Luzerne County and Philadelphia).

...

As evidence, it cited separate news reports regarding incidents of “election deniers” signing up to be poll watchers and documented threats against election workers in battleground states such as Arizona.

An FBI report said the highest concentration of election-related threats stemmed from the battleground states in 2020 “with Recounts, Audits, or Public Election Disputes.”

Of course the DOJ will not tell us exactly what they plan to do in order to monitor” these elections. They certainly have plenty of personnel or not needed to investigate any actual laws that have been broken.

The Republican Party just got off of something like a 40 year period of time when they were not permitted to challenge anything about elections due to some kind of a agreement that was made for a violation decades ago. Perhaps the FBI is looking for a single violation somewhere so they can put those restraints right back on.

This announcement is election interference, in and of itself.

Like calling in the National Guard, for this action to be legitimate, it must be INITIATED by a Mayor or Governor’s request!
