Unless they had a sound detector for breaking glass, the intrusion alarm probably would not sound. The police were responding to a 911 call. Pelousy met them by opening the door. At the point this becomes a bit of enigma, why would he go back in after being rescued by the police. Lastly, who had the hammer? If Pelousy had it without yet having been struck, one would wonder if he is insane. If DD had it, why would he go toward an armed intruder?? No, this whole thing does not make sense beyond the point of when the police got there, 20 minutes after getting a 911 call and stating they did not know it was the Pelousy residence (which is a BS comment at best).
Finally, did he violate his sentence from the Napa collision wherein he was not to use alcohol for a time.
