There was a photo of the rear door posted on this site earlier.

It shows a door with a removed mullion(?) and the glass broken enough to permit the door to be unlatched at both its bottom and top. This suggests that the break-in was genuine.

Then why was the door next to the broken one opened instead of the broken one?

And did DePape step through the hole in the door without breaking out the rest of the glass above the next mullion below?

The photo shows shattered glass on the outside. There was no break “in”.

Then why not charge him with breaking & entering if it was so cut and dried? Not only did they decline to do so, but instead they charged him with Elder Abuse! Have you ever heard of such a charge between 2 strangers?

Doors were double doors—=opening in the middle. Door handles are in the middle of the 2 doors.

Glass was broken at ground level.

“Intruder” would have had to reach ACROSS the width of the one door to get to the latch-—from just above GROUND LEVEL.

THAT WOULD TAKE SOME VERY LONG ARMS...
