I can’t link to any U.S. based media but just heard on a Canadian news program that this Depape character is from British Columbia, having moved to the U.S. about twenty years ago. Pictures were shown of him at some nudity celebration in SF about ten years ago, and there were statements about his more recent support for the Jan 6 event on social media.

This would be another case of a person within the Jan 6 support base not being an obvious core member of the MAGA movement but, like that moosehead guy, a flamboyant fan of free expression presumably attracted to the MAGA movement simply because it was officially unpopular with elites.

So if all of that proves to be true, it really means nothing in political terms, just a random phenomenon that has no greater significance than on the personal level that this one person made this set of choices. Somewhere there may be an equal and opposite like a fine upstanding business person with libertarian views who admires BLM, Obama or Hillary Clinton. There are 350 million lives ongoing in America, that leads to a myriad of possible outcomes. Trying to fit any one person into large groups is not always that easy.

The media may try to portray this Depape character as a “typical pro-Trump extremist” but that’s fairly easy to debunk, Trump just needs to say that the guy seems like a weirdo to him and he has never urged anyone to attack political opponents with a weapon. A vote, yes.

A nudist fanatic from Berkeley, CA is a pro Trump extremist? Anymore spin and they'll speed up the rotation of the earth.
