University of Florida faculty members have issued a no-confidence vote in the selection of Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) as the SEC school’s next president.
UF’s Faculty Senate held an emergency meeting Thursday night and railed against the administration’s decision to make Sasse the sole finalist for the role.
The group voted 72-16 in favor of the no-confidence declaration, and called for school brass to more fully explain why the lawmaker emerged as their top choice.
While not binding, the tally could complicate Sasse’s appointment, which was considered a formality at this stage.
The university’s Board of Trustees unanimously voted to name Sasse their only finalist earlier this month, and he was expected to win the appointment after formal interviews next month.

I don’t know why UF wants him so bad but since his chances of failure are high, I’m all for it.
I was in college at the same time. It would be fun to go back and bait and engage and counter-protest these people. Otherwise I think being in college today would be a frustrating and suffocating experience. My college was liberal, not leftist, and that meant that true diversity of opinion and freedom of expression were supported, and most of the lunatic creeds and identify politics that dominate things today hadn’t even been imagined.

First the school belongs to the people of Florida, not the out of state party hounds, and second I’m sure that the sign holder didn’t earn the money to pay for her classes, room , and board.

Well, I remember Miami being a doormat just prior to the arrival of Jim Kelley. It’s not like I have a lot of sympathy for a program that racked up the National Championships the ‘U’ cranked out.
1) I dislike Sasse intensely, and would love to see home end his days as a drug addicted, homeless, male homo prostitute....

For you non Gators here, this happened a while ago. The Faculty - as at any large university, are a bunch of commies.
Of course, I share their disgust with Sasse but for exactly the opposite reason. Anyway, this is just a talk shop. It has no power. Nobody listens to them.
Same here. I donate to UAA but will not give money to the Commies who run the university.
