Fetterman’s internal polling must be really awful if he’s doing a live event after that debate debacle.
I suspect the vast majority of undecideds are independent/non-affiliated voters. They are breaking to Republicans across the nation. I can’t see how a Democrat Party reception sways any independent’s minds. This is purely a GOTV effort of Democrats in Philadelphia. Fetterman’s campaign must have given up on independents, or they just are not bright enough to align a campaign event with the voters they need. The venue is also a poor choice because of it’s reach and it has three times the potential to backfire given who is on stage. That has to be demotivating. The whole setup smacks of party elites and the average Democrat voter is kept outside. Contrast that to what Trump is doing on Saturday. The regular guys, in large numbers, are treated to what amounts to a large outdoor party on a beautiful autumn day with speakers that can form complete sentences. Those people will be motivated to GOTV in vast numbers, even if that is just talking to friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.
