HARRISBURG, Penn. (Reuters) - Pennsylvania Democrats tried to do damage control on John Fetterman's U.S. Senate campaign on Wednesday, the morning after a shaky debate performance against Republican TV doctor Mehmet Oz that showed the struggle Fetterman faces in recovering from a May stroke.
“I don’t know anyone, even the most staunch Fetterman supporters, who think that went well last night," a senior Pennsylvania Democrat told Reuters.
Democrats interviewed said the Fetterman campaign is surely doing quick polls to gauge how to repair any damage caused by the performance. Some took hope in how many voters had cast ballots before the debate -- some 685,000, more than two-thirds of them Democrats, according to the U.S. Elections Project.
Fetterman's words on Tuesday night were frequently halting, and he often repeated phrases multiple times. Several Democrats said that his performance, while courageous, raised fresh concerns about his health.
Fetterman's campaign tried to change the subject, saying it would launch new TV ads highlighting Oz's debate comment that a abortion is a decision to be made by "a woman, her doctor and local political leaders."

LOL...that’s perfect! Edgar was great in MIB!
When I heard him say Goodnight, I’m like WTF is that all about? LOL
It has been all over FR and other websites that Republicans tend to vote at the polls on election day. Historically watching results from elections roll in, the early leads almost never stand but they result from the mail ins being counted first.
Why on earth would they change that 2020 successful steal formula? It’s not as if the GOP had any interest in trying to stop the steal or doing anything to the prevent the ‘22 steal.
We always said Dems would vote for anyone who is running as a Dem, including a donkey walking through town with a “D” blanket on his back.

See? We were so cruel to ask him difficult questions and to dig into his past of freeing felons and promoting abortions.
Don’t we have any sense of decency or compassion?
For months that was the strategy to cover for Biden. (Media: Don’t we allknow someone who faces the misfortune of dementia in their old age, so lay off Grandpa Biden.)
Notice that the media has dropped it.
The people they trotted out on the news tonight seemed to think Fetterman walked on water. I got caught, unfortunately, where I could not change the channel, nor leave.
Didn’t watch it but saw a screenshot of Fetterman in a suit and tie. Must have felt like a trout out of water without his hoodie or robe and sandals.
Like Wild Thing (Charlie Sheen) in a suit coat with the sleeves torn off in the restaurant in Major League: “I feel like a penguin in this thing.”
Biden photo caption:
“Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? She must not be here.
Can anyone tell me which way is my home? I’m running for Senator from Delaware, you know.”
It was shocking when he said goodnight as the opening. I was thinking for a moment- are we using ‘goodnight’ now as a greeting as in its a good night? I quickly realized he effed up Bigtime.
For most democrats, this won’t matter.
Like xiden’s senility and corruption.
They just want power, however they get it.
What bothers me is that Democrats repeatedly proffer these totally unsuitable defects for public office.
Somewhere along the way, however, I noticed that Biden and Fetterman are not the aberrations they might seem to be to many. To their die-hard supporters, Biden and Fetterman don't stand out as having fallen very far from "the tree." Dems consider them defensible.
What Democrats want is not a democracy based on our founders' Constitution, in the sense of a thriving society being constantly re-invigorated by the best and brightest minds and talents based on merit, freedom and successful iterations of ever-greater achievement.
Above all, in their politicians Democrats want a uniform cadre of mental and moral defects they can coerce or blackmail to conform to the whims of their chief villain's goals in Borg-like fashion.
OMG!! THAT’S SOOO FUNNY!!!
But CBS Evening News whitewashed it and, voila, deemed it a ‘wash’!
Obviously, his teleprompter was on the Fritz!
“I’m John Fetterman?”
Dems will vote for anyone with a D by their name-its all about power
Yes, it was clearly a draw!
