Nice try.

Let me post up a bit of hard truth for some of you as the conflict heads into the coming Winter months....

“The irretrievable losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of October 20, 2022 amounted to 402,000 people , of which 387,000 were killed . Losses among mercenaries and volunteers from Poland, the Baltic States, Romania amounted to 54,000 of them killed 31,240 people. These are the OSINT data , calculated using reports from funeral agencies, extracts from mortuaries, as well as the results of an analysis of the radio, cellular and satellite exchange of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The media also report that the Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers of Ukraine allegedly prepared more than 320,000 appeals “about the fate of the missing soldiers”, but the SBU banned them for national security purposes......”

”The mobilized received footcloths instead of socks .”

That’s not new to the Russian army. I watched a documentary about the Russian army decades ago and they were using the same cloths. Sock tech eludes Ivan.

That’s an old photo -

However footcloths “ portyanki” have been replaced with socks since 2013 in Russia. Prior to this they proved their worth as is writtn about them throughout wars and conflicts. Drier than socks and more veritile. Were standard issue for years.

Footwraps were a traditional footwear for soldiers in Europe. Finland gave theirs up in 1990. Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia dropped them later and as late as 2013. The Russians reintroduced them, as you note, for their mobilization. Keeping them is meant to bolster pride in their service and remind them of the centuries of Russian soldiers that wore them before.
