“Sixty LNG tankers have been idling or slowly sailing around northwest Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Iberian Peninsula, according to MarineTraffic.”
Assuming this is actually true, the Third World is going to go through hell this winter, as those tankers could have been sending them LNG for months, at this point.
Regardless, they’ll know who to blame for their massive suffering and it won’t be ‘Putin’.
“It’s not even November, and already the FR Pollyannas are claiming “mild winter””
Too funny, I saw that claim also. Imagine that, one’s reason for existence on this planet is predicated on the same Global Warming that they’ve spent their lives fighting against...actually happening, at least for this winter.
“how many days supply if storage is at 100%? 30 days?”
Roughly 30 to 40 days during winter, by my estimate, using their claimed numbers. Probably 4 months during the summer.
It’s also not clear just how fast the gas can be retrieved, or how much can be retrieved as the bulk of their storage is underground, which presents a full set of challenges as the amount starts to run down.
“And people are wondering where the Ukrainian reparations from Russia will be coming from. Look there.”
...and the people wondering why the rest of the world, led by China and India, are moving their money away from the West as fast as they can, look there too. They know what happens to their money if West needs a new enemy next week.
There is vast capital flight from China, to the “west”. Worse at the moment.
One heating oil is very similar to diesel. Have you talked to a trucker lately?
Home heating oil.
Wow - dragged that out almost as long as Kuddly Kami talking about “communities”...

That’s for NY.
We consume plenty of nat gas that’s now going to the EU...
My butcher predicts a warm winter, but my plumber says cold.
The problem is that Europe has no place to store all of this LNG which is why the ships are sitting idle. Nord Stream alleviated the need for long-term storage.
Who the hell is “we” when it come to Europe? “They” is the pronoun that you are looking for.
No, it is because the Europeans are both arrogant and NEEDY. They are the lazy relative that constantly gives you unwanted advice and criticism and constantly asks for money. They and the crooked Ukrainians can go to hell.
They are shipping oil east.
“To set an example for citizens to save money, official departments are reducing the temperature of heating in offices, turning off hot water, fountains and lifts”
German ministries have a new mission under the slogan “freeze for the people”

Great description. I deal with those entitled asshats every day. Such arrogance and fecklessness.
Nat Gas in the northeast is actually dropping. It would be lower if the pipelines were built. But heating with gas is going to be much less expensive than oil.
You might as well publish articles about green solar power and how that’s going to fix everything.
What’s the ***PRICE*** of this gas when it hits the Euro market?

Germany (Europe’s largest economy) is in serious trouble while you’re talking crap.
Businesses are shutting down, limiting output, or relocating because of the high energy costs while you’re writing about how everything is OK and of course more “winning on all fronts” against the Russians.
RE: Businesses are shutting down, limiting output, or relocating because of the high energy costs while you’re writing about
You must be confused as to WHO the writer is. The author of this article is CLEARLY shown in the title of this thread. Direct your pronouns to him, not the poster
