You damn straight you know where this is going. What goes around comes around. The vacant home owners voted for the junta.

OH MY GOODNESS! Place the homeless in empty houses and make sure someone pays the taxes on it to support the homeless. WHAT? no one is paying the taxes on the property that the homeless are staying in? Then make the other taxpayers foot the bill. WHAT? The other taxpayers are moving away? Just make the ones left foot the bill. Easy peasy. WHAT...NO forwarding addresses? Newsom has money so just get it from his stash. ...right? Remember that liberalism is great until you run out of other people’s money. Just a little FYI.

Yes, and we used to keep such people in a part of town called “skid row” where they would get a hot, a cot (dirty mattress with chickenwire ceiling), and a sermon from the Salvation Army as they drank their lives again. While the substances have shifted to opioids, we are really dealing with the same kind of people that Theodore Roosevelt complained about when he was police commissioner in NYC over a century ago.

The majority of addicts aren’t homeless.

If the problem was easy to fix, we’d have done it already.

"We moving from the government working to prevent you from renting out your spare room, to requiring it."

Yup... The confiscation of private property for government use.. What's next, the quartering of troops maybe.?

No we are not..... California is moving towards Government either using the room for free or just taking the room because you have too many rooms! Commies!

Same subject.

Drug addiction is an obvious human condition and has been forever and is complicated.

There are no simple solutions.

We need an entirely new approach, not continue to keep making the same mistakes that have not helped the situation at all.

Drug addiction, like most human behavior, is about incentives.

You get more of what you reward.

You get less of what you punish.

Once you remember that the perfect is the enemy of the good it is amazing how many problems can be mostly solved.

Absolutely incredible. These idiot politicians have turned one of country’s most beautiful cities into Detroit with heavenly weather.

I grew up in San Jose from 76-85. It was awesome as a child.
Play outside for hours, and when hungry I would pick tangerines off of our two trees, and drink water from the hose...

Wonder how many of these folks they can house at City Hall during non-working hours?

A shame. It’s a beautiful state with anything you desire from land.
Ocean, beach, desert, forest, redwoods, valleys, mountains...
