My cousin was a NHRA drag racing pro (it ultimately killed him), but he and Dale were very good friends, and used to hang out at the local beer joints together in Bristol in between races and practice.
The fans held grudges longer than the driver’s for sure.
Nothing compared to Bristol “back in the day” having to sit on the old concrete seating lol.
