"For here we are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it."
That's Thomas Jefferson, the Father of the University of Virginia, describing his beloved institution's creed to English historian William Roscoe. I think it is a fitting description of the American Thinker community, who often tussle with difficult stories because that is where the truth takes us. Several members of the community recently focused my attention on the plight of J6 political prisoner Jonathan Mellis, who has already spent nineteen months in the American Gulag for the "crime" of protesting against his government.
Mellis is one of hundreds who have endured the wrath of a wayward Washington politburo that has thrown Americans' Bill of Rights and founding principles right out the window. Dennis Prager actually managed to secure a fifteen-minute interview with the incarcerated Mellis on December 22, 2021, and has replayed the disturbing audio for his listeners several times. I encourage anyone who has not already come across it to find a few minutes to concentrate on their conversation.
The thirty-five-year-old Mellis, whom Prager identifies as a native Tennessean, although he was arrested in Virginia, sounds remarkably calm and composed, considering that he had already endured nearly a full year in jail (with no end yet in sight) and was obviously communicating with Prager from behind enemy lines.
His story is similar to those of other J6 political prisoners caught in this abusive, Soviet-style purge, yet his descriptions are unnervingly poignant. Like so many of us who angrily watched as mass mail-in balloting and other pandemic-related voting shenanigans corrupted the 2020 election, Mellis hoped January 6 would stand as a historic day when civic-minded Americans engaging in political protest would successfully convince

we will need to march in the streets of Washington to have them released.
It will never happen. The swamp are using them as an example of what will happen to us if we ever challenge their power again.
This whole sordid mess is proof positive that Nanzi Pelousy, ChuckU Schumer and the rest of the Demoncrat Party (aided and abetted by “Team Mitch” and the rest of the GOPeahens are supremely evil and have no interest in representing the people who “elected” them. They should be the ones in jail without bail.
Trump needs to take the lead on this. He’s been too quiet about the J6 political prisoners.
Should the Republicans take back the house would that help?
I will go.
This is an older article because instead of bemoaning the evil injustice. We need to focus together on how to help strategies. The Freeper community has many, many intelligent gifted Freedoms to coordinate efforts .
How to help J6 defendants

Made these suggestions:
“Accordingly, my plea to you this Christmas season is to have compassion for the J6ers and their loved ones.
Pray for them.
Help them.
There are many ways you can help a J6er.
You may donate to individual defendants, adopt a family in need this holiday season, and get information on how to send cards and letters to those incarcerated or under house arrest.
Prayers, cards, and letters provide tremendous joy, hope, and strength to those affected.
Believe me, Tom and I know this first-hand and we are overwhelmed, thankful, and humbled by the support we’ve received.
You can do something very tangible to give others joy and hope.”
..... How a can we be inspired to help???
If their J6 fiasco is all they have to worry about, it might be time to defund and disband it. We’ve got a lot of real problems in this country. A RAT campaign issue created to paint Caucasian Americans as “the bad guys” should not be taking priority. This needs to stop.
Trump would give ‘full pardons with an apology’ to Capitol rioters if elected again

“Trump would give ‘full pardons with an apology’ to Capitol rioters”
But, that would be in 2 years.
Maybe, it would just be easier to prepare House/Senate Bill & get both Bidens’ & Pelosis’ drunk! Give Congress the option choice of indulging in either pot or alcohol???
Replace them with the J-6 Committee......
On this I agree.
Its just a shame we cannot find a legal excuse to throw all those who have orchestrated this gross injustice into prison....including judges, jailers, congress critters etc.
What can be done after Trump wins reelection in 2024 is to organize them into a class and file a class action suit against the US government. The Trump justice department can then admit its full guilt, issue an apology and offer a very generous cash settlement to the J6 political prisoners who have suffered this injustice.
Obviously prosecute anybody involved in this that we can such as abusive jailers, but corrupt judges and DC jurors are who should really get it.
Also, Congress needs to strip the DC Swamp of its status as federal circuit and strip DC of the self governance powers granted to it in the early 1970s. The Swamp is too corrupt to govern the Swamp.
apology is not good enough. Legislation needs to happen that J6 prisoners once pardoned can sue the governement.
This happened because we have a treasonous, criminal, government. The Constitution is dead at this point.
These people did nothing wrong. It hurts me to my soul. There needs to be payback.
“Replace them with the J-6 Committee......”
Sounds nice, but then we would just become the second team incarcerated.
TWO IDEAS:
1- We could act as Lobbyists, to blackmail Congress?
Get info from Hunter’s pc & the other mulitiple law-breaking infractions and threaten our ‘Congressional Statesmen’ [tax evasion, insider trading ettc]
2- Create a 50 statewide protest at their Capitol &/or Members of Congress state offices??
Half agree: Jan. 6 suspects are ‘political prisoners’

Mellis has spent 19 months in the DC Gulag. Whatever happened to the meaning of the 6a:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
My definition of a speedy trial vastly differs from government.
Not one judge or jury in DC is lifting a finger to uphold the bill of rights on these people. Few is any members of Congress seem to have any interest in helping. Meanwhile they endure treatment and conditions that would make the KGB proud. It may be the DC jail officials know many of them will be in prison when their treatment of these patriots is disclosed. Absolutely disgusting.
