Russian army 'mutiny' as troops 'kill commander and surrender' as morale plummets

The Russians had virtually no ammunition and some even had to share one assault rifle between two.

VIDEO: Ukraine: Russian soldiers appear to 'surrender'

Russian troops killed their commander after he tried to stop them from surrendering to Ukraine's army, it has been reported. The soldiers were part of the recently mobilised reserve and had just arrived at the front. Vladimir Putin's army has suffered a series of humiliating defeats on the battlefield in recent weeks.

Ukraine's army has made spectacular advances in the northeast, east and south of the country as they continue their counteroffensive on a number of fronts.

The military setbacks have forced the Kremlin to shake up their military command yet again and introduce a nationwide "partial" mobilisation.

Russia's Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu announced in September a draft of 300,000 reservists to help boost frontline troops fighting in Ukraine.

The announcement led to a mass exodus of Russian men from the country, as they sought to escape the call-up.

Those unable to flee were forced to report for duty at military enlistment offices.

Ukraine's military launched a hotline called "I want to live", encouraging conscripted Russians to get in touch and promising them safety and humane treatment if they surrendered.

Russia has been warned it is in "big trouble" with the war in Ukraine, as Vladimir Putin's battlefield plan is torn apart by a veteran British Army commanding officer.

The Russian Army has suffered a series of huge setbacks in recent months, and found itself pushed back out of key territories thanks to heroic counteroffensive operations from Ukrainian troops.

Now a group of Russian soldiers appear to have responded to the offer in a bid to avoid the slaughter at the front.

The men were sent to a hotspot within days of being called-up without either adequate training nor proper equipment.

The Russians had virtually no ammunition and some even had to share one assault rifle between two.

They were told in no uncertain circumstances by their commander that they would be shot if they attempted to retreat.

Realizing the hopelessness of their situation, the soldiers secretly contacted Ukraine's army via the hotline and agreed to surrender.

When the time came to lay down their arms, they shot their commander and handed themselves in.

Ukraine's special forces told Channel 24: "A group of mobilised men, by prior arrangement, went out into the square indicated by our fighters.

"They had no ammunition, so they only gave us their weapons.

"They received medical assistance, because everyone was sick. They received food and were satisfied.

"They will go to the camp after interrogations. They'll be safe."

Reports emerged on Friday that Putin's military recruiters were rounding up men on the streets and from their apartments in both Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Welcome to war. Propaganda is a weapon.

This is not a US war, and these countries dont work according to US media customs.

There are stories by reporters on the ground, several have been killed.

The Ukrainians apparently dont embed (attach reporters inside combat units). Apparently reporters are free to go within certain zones until told to go no further. They seem to prefer Ukrainian media. The Ukes have tight control on media and Opsec.

The Russians also have embedded reporters, mostly Russian, but there is or was an American resident in Russia among them.

You mean this invasion would NEVER have started if Putin only had to honor the 1994 Budapest Declaration’s commitment to Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty and national unity.

The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances comprised of political agreements signed at the OSCE conference in Budapest, Hungary, on 5 December 1994, to provide security assurances by its signatories relating to the accession of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

These three memoranda were originally signed by three nuclear powers: the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States. China and France gave individual assurances in separate documents.

HOWEVER, PUTIN DOESN’T HONOR HIS COMMITMENTS.

The Treaty on “Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine nuclear arsenal to Russia and Russia AGREED to:

-Respect the signatory’s independence and sovereignty in the EXISTING BORDWERS.
-Refrain from the threat or the use of force against the signatory.
-Refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by the signatory of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind.
-Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they “should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used”.
-Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against the signatory.
-Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.

IT IS WELL KNOWN GLOBALLY that PUTIN could stop this INVASION any time by withdrawing military troops.
He won’t.

Putin just keeps letting those dead bodies pile up. It’s not like he cares about the Russian population or military.

“Regarding Minsk Agreements”

Ukraine is merely a continuation of Putin’s pattern of “Transnistrian” policy. Putin has also managed to control ‘zones’ of frozen conflicts in Moldova (Transnistria region), Georgia (Abkhazia and South Ossetia), and now with in Ukraine annexed Crimean peninsula and the Donbas.

Putin uses this wider pattern of “created” separatist conflicts to create corruption and criminality as ‘Trojan horses’ to block progress in reform-minded periphery countries. This is the Putin tactical part of his geopolitical strategy that CREATES conflict zones to prevent countries from entering NATO and integrating into the European Union.

These CONFLICTS by Putin is part of his ‘imperialistic plan’ to regain strategic points of the LOST RUSSIAN EMPIRE.
So, for Ukraine this means Putin must fully separate occupied parts of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts from Ukraine and recognize them as Donbas puppet republics just like Georgia’s Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

“Regarding Minsk Agreements”
The MINSK-2 merely was a second attempt to force Ukraine to accept Russia’s Transnistria for the Donbas, a “peace enforcement” to push both occupied regions back into Ukraine as Russian-run enclaves to expand Russia’s control over the internal and external affairs of Ukraine.

Putin would never admit it, but the Russian presence in Ukraine serves many globalist interests.

Of course not. Thank you for your response.

It would be wrong to make false accusations. I just asked the question because of their shared typical comments.

I felt compelled to ask the question because I do value the Free Republic forum and don’t want it to become a platform for agenda politics supporting Prog Left Socialist Policy and Indoctrination.

Sorry to have offended you, certainly not my intention

Correction, this would not have happened if Russia didn't renege on the signed Belovezh Accords of 1991 and the Bucharest Memorandum of 1994

You just said it — propaganda.

Thanks for being my straight man.

My point is we are not getting true journalism from this war.

I would like to know how many Russians are gun ho for this war. We will never be given the truth from either side but it would seem to me if Russia is having to use draftees the support from the Russians is in the toilet. Ukrainians at least can maintain moral defending their territory. But does a Russian in Moscow really want to go fight to annex some territory carved out a hundred years ago? One thing is for certain. The Big Guy will get his cut.

This report from Reuters is sounds like a different ‘rebellion’ by Russian troops. The above account posted above occurred in a TRAINING GROUND in Russia.

“We” (I am assuming us groundlings) have never gotten straight journalism in any war.

Still, its possible to figure out whats going on in broad strokes anyway, from, yes, propaganda. We just have to put in a bit of effort into being our own “open source” intelligence analysts.

If you want to see that “open source” stuff done as well as possible, check out the videos by Perun, on Youtube.

This is nonsense is no more believable than a Stacy Abrams' romance novel being based on true life experiences.

Hips don't lie. Nor does the map. Russia has gained 40,000 square miles that is not going back to Ukraine. The only question is, how much more territory do they have take before Ukraine surrenders or until NATO gets the hell out.

So you think. If Putin is turning to the T-62 tank, his forces are massively being decimated.
