He noted that of the 26 major plants in Europe that produce nitrogen-based fertilizers, all are either closed down or on the verge of closing. This is insane.

I know I’ve been posting this a lot lately, but https://www.driveonwood.com/ has some good resources. And it’s not just limited to cars and wood. There are gasifier designs that can use any dry organic burnables as fuel, such as corn stalks, sunflower shells, or manure. And they can fuel anything from tractors to generators to kitchen stoves. Even if you never end up building one, I think it’s a good idea to be familiar with them, just in case.
I’m currently working on a variation of a downdraft gasifier to turn crop waste into charcoal. Don’t know if I’ll ever run an engine off of it, but the charcoal will be made into biochar and used as fertilizer.
Great post! Thank you!

Again, more fear porn....”
Maybe. But these policies will starve and freeze people.
Probably the poorest people will die first.

Yep - had you had one or two of these you’d just have increase the dial a bit and leave it alone - no cold mornings.
BTW I also spoke with a couple electricians familiar with these units - they even said not to turn it down nights. I can’t say enough about these units being efficient and effective. ...and I’ve tried many different other ones to no avail.

We have a very cool fall day here with rain so my heater is of course on and it's just plain cozy here.
I think the key to using these is set the temp where it's comfortable and simply adjust it higer if the temperatures outside increases. Otherwise just let it be 24/7/
I have mine in the middle of the living room area so it radiates in all directions. You can put them closer to a wall - but I found this way works best for my place.
The other one I put in My bedroom...but it's temp is lower.

Those were wrong
