The price of fuel in California is so much higher than the rest of the nation for a couple of rather obvious reasons:
- Taxes (California has the highest per-gallon fuel tax in the nation - currently over 57 cents/gallong (and that’s just the state part. (Federal is another 18.2 cents for gas/24.4 cents on diesel). Add in all the other forms of taxation on every aspect of business - and you have a rather large overhead that consumers will pay for.
- Regulations: California is one of the heaviest-regulated states, from storage, production/refining, and transportation, to general business regulation. Throw in the artificial labor cost...
dont i know it.. oh ya and the state back in july granted us peons a whole $300 in inflation reduction starting in OCT.. ya calif is so wonderful
