This Ukraine war reminds me of The pre-WW2 Spanish Civil War. The US and Russian military developers and planners are both happy testing weapons and tactics. In this war the residents and ground troops are the ones who pay the human cost.

The Spanish civil war was Soviets vs Germans.

The US did didn’t have a dog in that fight.

Americans that believed communism works / doesn’t work did, but the country as a whole was meh. That was back when communism was still romanticized (like on college campi today)

Ukraine is dictatorial empirecal power grab by an egomaniac surrounded by yes men, who thought because they were a corruptocracy, no one would care.
