The only usefulness of a nuclear threat is the threat. The more these idiots talking about ‘taking threats seriously’ the more it will invite new threats. If Trump were in power and Putin were making nuclear threats against the US (hypothetically because he wouldn’t dare) , Trump would get on social media and threaten complete annihilation of western Russia after which the threats would stop.
People may recall there were intelligence reports of Iran carrying out terror attacks against US overseas military bases some time during the Trump admin. Trump went on Twitter and addressed the Iranian govt directly threatening them with catastrophic consequences. Not surprisingly no terror acts materialized. The only thing rogue regimes like Russia, Iran, N Korea understand is strength and the willingness to follow through on threats like Trump did in Syria.
