Russia’s Mobilization, Plunging Oil Prices Weaken Putin’s Economic Hand
WSJ ^ | 28-SEP-2022 | Georgi Kantchev

A costly troop mobilization, plunging energy prices and a new round of Western sanctions threaten to bear down on Russia’s already embattled economy and undermine the financial underpinnings of President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine. ... Capital Economics estimates that Russia’s total oil-and-gas export revenues will halve from around $340 billion this year to $170 billion in 2023, a loss equivalent to more than twice Russia’s defense budget last year. ... “People are escaping where they can,” Mr. Mironov said. “These are mainly highly skilled, educated workers. So this mobilization is going to have a severe economic effect not just for the next year but for decades.”

Germany imploding economically.
EU imploding economically.
US imploding economically.

Euro crashing.
Pound crashing.
Dollar wrecking everything but the Ruble.

Russia is no where near economic distress or implosion as those mentioned above.

General Winter is coming.

Hey Snake, What kind of idiot thinks that poverty-induced falling oil prices is winning? The fools running the West are chocking the economy to ration fuel instead of increasing production to meet demand.

I guess I missed the hundreds of thousands of people lined up at the borders to flee the USA and Europe.

Russia is the only one with miles long caravans of people looking to escape the country.

“Russia is the only one with miles-long caravans of people looking to escape the country.”

First, this really is a good thing. If Russia gets too desperate because of this US Proxy War they might start dropping nukes.

Second, have you seen the southern border? Millions flew other countries and flooded our borders only because theirs are bigger hell holes.

Hundred of thousands, if not millions are going to starve and freeze to death this winter. Countries are going into depression status (not recession) and the world economy is going to crash. But yeah! We showed that mean ole Putin and enriched the military-industrial complex (at least someone is getting rich) at the same time.

It is really amazing how there are some who do not think that Putin has any responsibility for this war.

Exactly, but absent from corrupted western msm is the economic destruction the West is enduring. The West has to keep Biden’s war cheerleaders hope, without the West’s massive spending ( debt), Ukraine would have been rolled up months ago.

Meanwhile, Vlad is still profiting from his reverse sanctions, while the West goes further into bankruptcy.

The price to pay for following vegetable head’s ill thought out sanctions is restructuring the worlds pecking order….and the outlook it isn’t looking
Good for the West.

“It is really amazing how there are some who do not think that Putin has any responsibility for this war.”

It is amazing how there are some who assume that because you are against the people starving, tens of thousands of young men dying, the world economy crashing, people throughout the world freezing to death, feeding the military-industrial complex, it must mean we love Putin.

Yes, Putin bears the most responsibility for this war, but NATO countries bear a good portion of the responsibility too. So, he is a bad, terrible, egotistical nutjob. I will give you that.

Look up Pyrrhic victory, because that is the end result. A deeply corrupt European country and a possible nuclear war is not worth the cost of victory.
