You've also drawn the false dichotomy between helping Ukraine defend its borders, and our own failure to defend ours. But the two have literally nothing to do with each other. The Biden Administration was not defending our border long before the Ukraine war, and ending support for Ukraine wouldn't change that in the slightest.
The Democrats are, on principle, against securing the southern border regardless of what happens overseas.

Obviously, sending US troops and sending resources are two different things, but in my opinion, both are ill-advised.
