Why should anyone listen to Ritter pretend to be modest and even handed, then say his every changing story of how Russian is winning?

Ever since the war started, he follows this routine. Starts off with some modesty. State current events and a few actual facts to sound credible. How he uses those facts is not necessarily truthful, although they sound good to those who do not know better. After that, he rephrases everything so Russia is about to, is or will win eventually. The US and the west are the big bad guys who are really responsible like a Lyndon LaRouche conspiracy theory.

In this video, he makes it sound like the Russian reserves operates like MEPS, says the troops will be paid and everything is running smoothly. Russian soldiers in Ukraine are owed back pay and Russian training is as run down as its military. There is a story that 63 year old retiree military was called up and medically approved to go (theins.ru, Telegram Russian).

Russia trains 150,000 conscripts per year. According to retired Gen. Mark Hertling, their standards are really low. Ritter implies Russian mobilization is like the US MEPS, implying the training is as good as what the US Army achieves. They are not going to bring on 300,000 in two weeks or even three months to a standard anywhere close to what he implies. They don not have the facilities to train or retrain 300,000. Whoever does go to Ukraine or the Belarus border is just filling a slot in the roster. They will not be properly trained soldiers.

Then he segues into saying Ukraine will no longer exist, US, UN, everyone else bad, Russia will win. Also, Poland has interests in taking over western Ukraine, just like Russian ultra-miltiarists say.

He has been selectively deceptive on the conflict for seven months. That is not what I call a good track record.
