Evening, NN. Once again, thank you for your invaluable work on these disaster threads. I’m late checking in but noticed Jersey117 hasn’t posted since the storm hit yesterday.

Ian wasn’t even making the news in the West; seems to have come out of the blue as one for the record books? Hope you’re doing well,

I can attest that communications are deplorable, spotty at best on the FL west coast peninsula post-storm. Worse further south. No electricity for millions, cell towers down and overloaded for multiple providers, and no intenet service combine for communication isolation.

Ian was very bad for FL. No question about that. We don't like to use the record books for best or worst storms. It is all relative and by location. Similarly, it is annoying when everyone describes Ft. Myers Beach, a barrier island, as Ft. Myers. I trust that the pre-fab mobile homes will be prohibited from rebuilding on fragile barrier islands.
