Yes there is that possibility, and health care will have to be cut, severely, Medicare cut way back and Medicaid gone totally. No more other spending, Defense spending cut to nothing. A Austerity Budget and there will be no choice.
Of course The Fed could finance the Debt and be the Buyer of last resort.

Not too many years ago, we use to discuss "trillions" when describing galaxies thousands of light years away. Now were talking about U.S. debt...Scary days.
