I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused by the timeline here. Or, at least, I missed the part where Redfield explains why he didn't come forth with this information back during the Trump administration, when he was head of the CDC.

But now we see asshats like Redfield coming out of the walls, with a "story to tell."

To be fair, Rand Paul is no better. This is just a show, people. Nobody in Washington is interested in "getting to the bottom of this," because they already know (or deeply suspect) what they'd find once they got there.
