People are still doing this? That’s an awful lot of expense and pain to go through for something that may have only intrinsic value. Maybe your fortunes will change for the better, maybe not. Those experiencing no change might want their money back, but then, you can’t give back any new growth, can you. That is Elective Surgery that probably won’t be covered unless a Psychologist supports it.
I’m a 5’8” guy who lied to myself, the DMV, the Navy, my Doctors for years. I told everybody I was 5’10”.
Then one day at a doctor’s appt. a young, cute Nurse Assistant put me on one of those old fashioned metal scales with the sliding discs, and she (loudly!) declared I was 5’8” !! I about died, right then and there. “There must be some mistake!”
It was then, I knew it was time to stop lying to myself and that nobody else really cared one way or another.
So maybe they can take a couple inches of bone from your legs give to a Google software engineer. You’re shorter they’re taller! You convalesce together. Win! Win!

I saw a bbc show years ago, “The life and loves of a she-devil”, where the main character did just that!
Any surgeon that agrees to do this should have his\her license revoked!

The article says mostly men, but I wouldn’t doubt you’re right. If I tried that trick I’d look like a flamingo.
Only if you're a guy. Tall chicks have far, far fewer options, especially for clothes and footwear.
I hate to break it to the fellas having this surgery, but their lack of stature isn't their real problem.
And surgery won't fix it.
Yes because women are totally happy with who they are.
High heels. Makeup. Different color contact lenses. Fake eyelashes. Fake hair. Weight surgeries. Implants, of every kind. Clothes that suck areas in, and push others out.
Tattoos. Dyed hair. Fake nails. Fake colored nails. Plastic surgery. Genital rejuvination surgery because a truckload of dudes went through there.
I wonder if the males, I won’t call them men, having or contemplating this surgery discriminate against tall women in the workplace....
Since this is in GQ magazine, I assume it's overblown out of all proportion and those handful who are getting surgery are men trying to attract other men.

I listened to a woman doctor talk about this. She said, “They want men over six feet. That’s only 15%. They want them handsome. Cut that in half. They want them to be high earners. Cut that in half again.”
I noticed that many black male employees at the defense contractor where I worked would wear their knee-length blue Electrostatic Discharge bright blue smocks while shopping even on days when the plant was closed. I asked one why. He said, “nothing says you got a job like this smock. I’ve had women chase me down in the parking lot.”
Most of these Silicon Valley software engineers are leftists, so it stands to reason that they’re f***ing morons enough to do something like this.
Naah. They just remove the femurs from Ughyrs over in Communist China and sell them for hard cash.
They remove those first. Heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs can all come out later for hard cash.
Precisely why many Baptist congregations don't allow sex standing up. Might lead to dancing.
Tall people get promoted faster and are viewed as more capable.
Same reason for coloring your hair or getting other plastic surgery
