Kate Brown is Jerry Brown’s sister, this explains a lot about the Californication of Oregon.
A friend who lives in Bend had a “professional tenant” who took every advantage of the Covid rules that allowed people to forgo paying their rent. After many, many months of wrangling with the legal system and thousands of $$$ to get them evicted, Kate put a moratorium on evictions one week before my friend was finally going to be able to reclaim her property. Many, many months later, when she was finally able to get them out, they left the house trashed. It cost her tens of thousands of $$$ to fix it up. It was a complete nightmare from start to finish.
The current climate is not kind to landlords.
