All the anger and hate directed at Pence is a waste of energy.

People on FR complain all the time about how Democrats run roughshod over the Constitution yet fuss and fume because Pence refused to do the same. Art. 2 Clause 1 Sec. 3:

“The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President”

Where in the Constitution is the president of the Senate given the leeway to determine whether the certificats are valid or not? Choose one: live by the constitution or make it up as you go like the Democrats do.

The problem with hating on Pence is that it does nothing to correct the problem, which is the manner in which the certificates were prepared, i.e. the cheating that happened at the state level. The constitution delegates nearly total authority over elections to the states so we have 50 different sets of election laws and 50 opportunities for following the intent of the founders in putting this power in their hands. or in cheating to accomplish political ends.

Not one damned thing is done to remedy the real problem by blaming and hating Pence. Not much is being done, period, so now Pence is gone and anyone who thinks we’re not going to see a replay of this same movie over and over again hasn’t been paying attention.

True: but Pence could have contained Trump supporters’ disappointment by aggressively supporting Trump on vote fraud and January 6. By picking needless and unsupported fights with Trump, Pence has been his own worst enemy.
