The candidates -- Arizona’s Mark Finchem, Michigan’s Kristina Karamo, Nevada’s Jim Marchant and New Mexico’s Audrey Trujillo -- said they want to overhaul how elections are run in their states. They appeared at a conference inside a South Florida hotel ballroom that featured numerous speakers falsely claiming that the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald Trump.
“Our biggest enemy is our own party,” said Marchant, a businessman and former state lawmaker who was among Trump’s most ardent supporters challenging President Joe Biden's 2020 win in Nevada. “Even though we are Republicans, we are kind of the outsiders. We have a battle, but we’re not giving up.”
All are members of the America First Secretary of State Coalition, which calls for large-scale changes to elections. While not officially tied to Trump’s America First movement, it’s part of the broader effort promoting conservative candidates who align with the former president’s views.
Eliminating voting machines, mailed ballots and early voting are among their goals. The coalition also supports hand-counting of all ballots and a single day of voting for all Americans with few exceptions. They did not say whether Election Day should be a national holiday.

The thing about this story that is false and misleading, is the Election Integrity conference that was held in South Florida included many Democrats who have been screwed over by the various election systems around the country.
One in particular was a guy who is a very liberal Democrat who ran against Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in South Florida and lost a contested election and when he protested the Supervisor of elections, broke every election law in the book and nothing was really done about.
This person was on the Jimmy Dore show recently, they have no love for Ron DeSantis and don’t praise him at all in this interview, but they do go into details of all the cheating that goes on.

In today’s society it is pretty hard to have just one day of
voting. People are to mobile due to work assignments, other
needs, etc. Unless the method of voting is changed such that
the hand held device is the method of voting. Then it makes
not an issue for where you are located on election day.
That fact that the GOPe is fighting against election integrity tells me everything I need to know about them.
There is fundamentally little difference in substance between a RINO and a dem. The Uniparty is very real.
We need an America First majority in the republican party otherwise we have very little actual representation. Right now we do not have a representative republic.
We have a rogue DOJ, Administration, and FBI. How many republicans do you hear speaking up about all the illegal searches and going after people close to Trump’s administration and their attorney’s with search and seizure warrants? I hope every single person from the top to the bottom involved in this farce has the very same experience done to them personally and those around them when possible.
This too should tell everyone all they need to know about the GOPe/Uniparty.

Even though the media is corrupt, they remain consistent by including the words ‘falsely claiming’ whenever there is a story about people who question the 2020 election.

I’m not of the camp that voting should be made easier. I have no problem going out of my way to vote. If casting your vote is such a pain in the ass then perhaps the laziest and the least qualified to vote would do so. One mans opinion.

I’m a EE, and former (loong time ago) white hat hacker. Trust me on this:
1. If it’s electronic, it can be hacked. And
2. If it’s electronic, and important, it WILL be hacked.
No matter the safeguards, no matter what “the experts” say. At every hack-a-thon gathering of the real experts, they always have contests of who can hack xxxx the fastest.
Often someone (or several) will bring voting machines, all kinds. They get hacked in minutes. Do a websearch.
There is a reason France, and many, many other countries, stopped electronic voting, and went to 1 day only, no mail in, no early voting. Sometimes journalists ask them why. Answer is always the same:
“It’s too easy to cheat.”
And they will give examples in their own country, before they went most secure.
Websearch that, too.
(And THAT is how you justify going 1 day, paper only: Point to France. Journalists looove France and won’t argue).
Yep we all have opinions as is our right. One day voting
disenfranchise many voters due to job requirements. I well
remember one day voting back in the day. I was born in 1940
and one of the voting places was located on our property out
back in an old car shed. Males/females but no blacks allowed.
Times have changed and will continue to change.

They should not be weighted equally, if you believe in the founding ideals of this country, and thus its survival.
That isn’t hyperbole. This country was founded on the very new, and unique (at the time) principle that:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed...”
Read that powerful statement carefully, especially the last 10 words. It’s from the Founding Document of our country. THAT is what made America great. Governments only have just powers if they have the “Consent of the governed.”
If our government does NOT have consent of the governed, it is illegitimate.
We have one, and only one, process in place to ensure we are being governed with our consent, and that is elections. That’s it;there is no other.
Defraud an election, and you’ve lost “with the consent of the governed.” The government installed without the consent of the governed is illegitimate.
THAT is a powerful statement, and absolutely critical to understand. It should be taught in every year of education in schools, and by parents.
If “Disabled Doug” or “Wendy works-three-shifts” can’t (or won’t) vote, that’s not good. But absolutely pales in comparison to having an illegitimate government.
To me, vote fraud is THE most critical problem in our country. It got us Biden, with all the horrors it brought.
Vote fraud should be prevented with all seriousness, every method possible (and reasonably practical) should be used.
And vote fraud should get the death penalty.
Period.
Yep times change, people change, laws/rules change, etc. etc. etc.
This land called the USA has changed so much since 1492 that it
isn’t even close to being the same. Yep the newcomers by their
actions over the years/generations have made the changes. That
will continue until the end of times, imo. Yours may vary.
I don't have a problem with all this. This process is actually done in Canada, IIRC.
GOP can occasionally cheat, too. Daniel Webster appears to have barely won his primary under suspicious circumstances. The other candidate was ahead when suddenly, a dump of 6000 ballots occurred, putting Webster over the top.
Ballot dumps in close elections should be looked at with suspicion, period.
