The EU’s masters (in Berlin) still haven't forgiven Britain for defeating them in WWII. The best revenge they can reasonably hope for is breaking Northern Ireland away....which very possibly could cause Scotland to follow.

I’m not sure the Republic of Ireland wants (or is able) to pay the welfare costs of Northern Ireland.
