A vacant house in Detroit is being used as a place for delivery driver ambush robberies - and the latest turned deadly.
On Tuesday night a 62-year-old was shot and killed at that house. Now police want to catch the suspect before it happens again. This house, at 16557 Lenore Street near Six Mile and Telegraph, has been in shambles for years.
"As I was growing up it was a beautiful house, He extended the garage he had race cars, it was a good family house, it’s just not anymore," said Jim Gibbs who lives next door.

Detroit used to be the richest city in the US.
One day in 1960, the last Republican major has been defeated in surprise election.
Detroit has never been the same again!
The city borders are visible (probably even from space) - on one side of the road ruins, houses never painted for half century, or empty lots, on the other side, nice American suburbia houses (Well, I think it still are, I have not been there for long while.).

A similar pizza robbery at abandoned address occurred on Pittsburgh’s North side area some 25 years ago. The bleeding delivery man dragged himself to the gates of the Pittsburgh General Mail Facility (main mail processing plant in Pittsburgh area) where guards assisted him. He left a bloody trail but survived.
Re: post #30 which I posted, I tried to Google the date that robbery occurred but there have been so many pizza robberies just in Pittsburgh area since then that I couldn’t easily locate the data online,

Had the same thought...and while I respect Dave’s advice, it’s worth remembering that even when he was dead broke after his fledgling real estate “empire” collapsed, he never delivered pizzas. He claims he ate a lot of beans and rice, but there’s no mention of him knocking on doors and delivering pies to earn a buck.
Guy was 62 years old and delivering pizzas in a bad Detroit neighborhood. God rest his soul, and I can only wonder about the circumstances that put him in that position.
BTW, do the pizza chains do anything for the families of delivery drivers killed on the job? Or do they just post a notice for another position that’s now open.
I had a dear friend whose throat was slashed for twenty and change. Mother of three young kids working to give them a better life.
Evil is irrational at every level.
That must have been the inspiration behind a Law and Order episode around that time.
i hate this fkn city... whats the worse is the inhabitants continue moving out to the suburbs and bringing their ‘trash all over the neighborhood’ comfort décor with them..
just stay away from this group....don't take jobs that require you risking your life for a simple minimum wage job....
job....now that's a concept a certain community doesn't understand.
