You know, much of that must be so. Perhaps her most meaningful contribution later in her reign could have been standing resolutely against - with good grace and manners, of course - in the face of the decidedly un-English changes roiling British life these last decades.
That’s what I wish we would have seen. But hell, maybe she correctly gauged that wokeism and socialist rot was irreversible and just decided to enjoy being rich and watching the horses. Can’t blame her.
