These things aren't "day to day politics", they're the overall trajectory of a nation.

The Queen, she seems like she was a nice graceful gal, but in a time that required firm guidance and re-directing a nation towards a better place... she was merely a nice graceful gal.

Dammit, you stated perfectly what I wanted to say. But you said it without being offensive or way too wordy.

Nicely stated.

“These things aren’t “day to day politics”, they’re the overall trajectory of a nation.”

I agree with you. We don’t even know what her opinion was of the immigration mess, but she wouldn’t have shared with any public figure because she couldn’t have trusted any of them.

The monarchy is supposed to be for charities and fundraising, engaging socially with foreign dignitaries, supporting the troops and encouragingthe people, etc. In other words show people. In her life she also was very engaged with the commonwealth and keeping it together as she was very old school. She didn’t campaign for her title, it was thrust upon her.

She never had a proper education for a ruler as it wasn’t ever thought she would be Queen. I think she filled her role well.
