I see. I’m curious why he wants the title of “Defender of the faith” changed to “Defender of faiths.” I’ve always heard him speak of Islam in highest regard.
I truly hope he strips the titles from his son, Harry. If he does not, he will have an incredibly bleak and weak outlook at home and abroad.
I’m still stunned that someone like Meghan ingratiated herself so easily.
He doesn't want that - he did make a speech many years ago when he mentioned the possibility, but it's not something that he supports today. And technically, the title is in Latin, and the English translation could actually be either of those.
He does treat Islam with respect - he is going to be the Head of a Commonwealth which contains hundreds of millions of Moslems. Would you expect him to treat their faith with contempt? But he makes a very real distinction between religion, and evil acts committed in the name of religion, and I don't think that is surprising. Bear in mind, that he lives in a country that has been repeatedly bombed by terrorists who claim Roman Catholicism as part of their justification - the same people who murdered his mentor, Earl Mountbatten. Going down the route of condemning religions for the acts of terrorists who claim a religious basis for what they do - well, that could take him in some rather difficult directions.
Perhaps Charles should have Harry take a DNA test to confirm the actual father.
It could be televised on PayTV with Maury Povich hosting.
In my opinion, Harry is imitating his mother who was dating a brown Dodi Fayed when she died. Rumours they were to be married.
Harry, resentful of dad’s infidelity, is rebellious and married brown like her mom. Meghan sniffed that out and went with it.
Least that’s my take
There’s quite a bit of irony in the title ‘Defender of the Faith’. It was bestowed on Henry VIII by Pope Leo X for Henry’s writings against Martin Luther. This, of course, was before Henry took control of the English Church so he could divorce his wife Catherine. But he and his heirs kept the title.
