He’s not anti any religion.
He is anti violence in the name of religion, but he doesn’t blame religion itself for the violence.
Terrorists who claim Catholicism was behind their terrorism murdered one of the most important men in his life.

And his orgasmic praise of the virtues of Islam for not separating science from religion, has led to most islamists countries still living in the Middle ages. Islam has never undergone the “enlightenment” movement of the west which separated and freed rational science from the dogmas of religion, allowing the west to make the unbelievable progress it thas made.
