“I did not say you said anything at all, and did not intend to imply you did. I posted to you to say I’d seen that article and to indicate I agreed with what you wrote. Then went off on my own tangent. I must have given a wrong impression, and am sorry for that. I assure you it was not intentional.”
Thanks for the explanation.
As I said, I was confused by your post. It appeared that you agreed with me but the following was confusing.
“TexasGator: I came very close to posting that same article over on the other thread. The embalmers were claiming the bodies with the classic chicken fat clots were those of perfectly healthy people who died suddenly. These hybrid agonal clots would not have been found in the bodies of such people. And that thread was already getting ugly.”
The colon after my handle appeared to attribute those words to me. A colon is used in this manner with no quotation marks. I do it every day here to keep context so, such as the below.
Jowblow: saidthis
Me: Isaidthis
You: Andyoureplied
And you misunderstood
Ah, I see now. Thanks for the reply. I was confused, too, wondering where I went wrong. I use the colon to indicate who I am addressing when replying to more than one person. I use
Re your “paste here whatever that person wrote”
when addressing particular statements.
You way looks like it might be better. I’ll give it a whirl next time.
