Now you have.
Two.
In the hinterland, the decennial Census is the Square Deal.
We're pretty professional about it.
I was an "embed" that they didn't know about. :)
The data stuff that I mentioned above came from very high up. I've worked in IT centers, and rolling out a data set that I described would be a decision way, way above lots of pay grades.
The people in the first three or four levels that I dealt with were very apolitical. I actually knew a supervisor three or four levels above me that became a Republican staffer for a US House member after the 2010 Census.
Good man, that one.
Sigh. In the “Hinterland”. I guess this is part of the reason I view this decennial silliness in the way I do.
I forget things aren’t “normal” in this state.
And just FYI...at only two of the households I visited was any attempt made to eat my liver!
I worked the Census too.
I’m not just “conservative” — for by now people can labor to conserve FDR era high handed lawlessness that Eisenhower rubber stamped — but a restorationist who would gleefully tear out all the lawlessness.
My Dad worked the 2000 and 2010 censuses, and he was even more conservative than I am. So that’s another one.
