"With all due respect, I am trying to understand why the Marine Corps Band appeared at a partisan political speech tonight, just after the sitting President announced his intention to run for a second term. I feel sorry for any Marine Band musicians who may have voted for President Trump in 2020 to be belittled, to their faces, by their Commander in Chief and be described in essence as enemies of the state. There needs to be a firewall, rule, or code for the Marines not to be used as props for any political campaign event. The two Marines at attention behind the President may have also voted for Trump and may have served under President Trump as their Commander in Chief. Marines follow orders regardless of politics, but this was a pure partisan, divisive attack on at least 74 million Americans who voted for President Trump and the Marines were portrayed as being supportive of this partisan divisiveness. Please stay out of politics."
Yeah, I wanted up PANNED, up close view of the Marine Band. I wonder to get in the band now if you have to identify in a rainbow color, or if you have to be non binary. Used to be, they only let the BEST play music in this band. Probably a lot of Drag Queens and BLM types.
Apparently, the Marine Corps got rid of their tanks because they don’t need tanks to massacre MAGA American women and little kids...
“There needs to be a firewall, rule, or code for the Marines not to be used as props for any political campaign event”
I thought there already was.
Agree with that 100%.
I have to say I don’t ever remember the Marine Corps band traveling to cover a president’s speech ANYWHERE. Is it common for them to leave DC where they’re based?
I was secretary of my high school senior year in 1954 and requested permission to attend a band rehearsal of the Marine Corps Band when we were on our senior trip to DC. While the rest of the class toured the Smithsonian, four of us went to the Marine Corps Barracks on I Street (?) to attend a band rehearsal. Fabulous - much more fun than a tour any day.
And certainly more fun for four 17 year old girls to ogle Marines all in one place! LOL
