Change the person and the place and this staged speech is one Mussolini or Hitler would have given. It had all the elements of fascism, blame others, pretend you’re the victim, create the national patriotic scenery, and use the symbols of the military to threaten. I know this nation has been headed in this direction for a long time, but now it is here, and it is frightening.
