I think so too, except for specific technical fields. But even there, your typical college prof is a former tech worker with skills five years old. That’s okay for civil engineering but not for the IT world.

That was my experience, going back for a computer science degree years ago. My profs said, ‘don’t worry, you’ll be managing the guys who write code.’

Maybe, but the guy who actually writes code in a current language will always have job! Management comes and goes. If you want cutting edge skills, college is not the place to get them. Pay a private company for tech training. Not only will it be faster, it’s more relevant to the real world.

Do you have data to match? MAYBE a few shooting stars at ivy leagues, but $250,000 is a made up figure.

"One thing’s for sure. Most college degrees are worthless."

Like much in life, it is worth no more than what you put into it. I went to one of the nation's premier party schools in the late '60s, and studied liberal arts, including literature, poetry, art history, economics, and philosophy. Although the temptation to do otherwise was great, and unlike nlike many of my classmates, I put my all into it. I studied hard, took my classes very seriously, and milked the professors for as much knowledge as I could get. That education allowed me to breeze through law school, and has helped me daily and in every way throughout life.

White people categorically ... have more wealth.

That is the result of generational good decision making. It cannot be bought or given; demanding it is idiotic.

It can only be gotten the old fashioned way.

It must be earned.

Nothing will ever be enough for some blacks. Give them your house, your job, everything you own or love, and nope, still not enough. With that knowledge, I no longer care about the “sins of the father”. I and my ancestors have been forgiven by the only one who counts in that regard. Why try to appease those who don’t want it? I believe they would rather hold on to the racism cudgel that allow things to heal. I refuse to play.

As much as getting grades, the most important thing to do in college is to start networking, don’t wait until your senior year.

I knew that, sooner or later, they would slip reparations into the mix.

Black students borrow MORE money than any other racial group - by far... Asians borrow the least.

I suspect ‘pay back’ rates are similar.

All of the most elite universities will roll out the red carpet for any black student who can spell his or her name mostly right. As such, they're opting to go to Columbia and Georgetown while racking up massive amounts of student loans.

The black woman profiled in the article with a Master's from Columbia can write her own ticket. She can literally work anywhere she wants.

But Aaricka Washington doesn't want a high paying job. She wants a lower-paying job "that aligns with my intrinsic values” and for us to pick up the $100k she spent getting a Master's Degree from Columbia.

Someone who majors in "Hating Whitey" and can't find a job should have ALL his or her student debt forgiven.

It's racism that prevents such a person from getting a job...pure racism.

Whitey controls the "system" and doesn't want a person majoring in"Hating Whitey" to get a good job where they can use their degree.

That's why people major in Hating Whitey to begin with.

As an aside, Hatey Whitey is a great major because it helps a person see what racists Whitey's are.

Die Whitey, Die!

The articles two black examples are going to super expensive schools (Georgetown & Colombia) getting graduate degrees that pay poorly (Public Policy & Journalism).

Yes, with those past decisions about education & career. They have three options to solve their indebtedness:

1. Marry well,
2. Deal in drugs,
3. Plan on ‘monetizing’ their ‘black femaleness’ with a well-timed discrimination suit.

I bet they’ll go with option 3!

Usually, forgiven debt results in a HUGE decrease in your credit rating.

And credit ratings take decades to fix. Literally, 20 years.

One wonders if this handout is being sponsored by the banks because they know they will get double or more the interest rates for all the losers who take the 10k on their future car, home, refi, etc. loans.

I have some low percentage from Sub-saharan which may be how I got the Thalassemia gene issue.

I want my share of reparations.

I also have some problem with G6pd but not the deficiency that blacks get.....mine is elevated.. Of course no Dr knows what to do with that.

I would categorize them. Science, Medicine and engineering will always pay off. I would imagine most of these people will have paid back their loan within a ten-year period or less.

But roughly sixty-percent of the degrees? You would have to anticipate 20 years to pay off $100,000.

I worked with an idiot who had a degree in TV production...out-of-state school, so she paid an enormous amount of money. Even at age 35, she was still calculating another 12 years before the final part of the loan was wrapped up.

The whole system needs to be rebuilt, and limit your loan to $10k a year max. Let the college figure out their own path to cover the cost.

***White people categorically ... have more wealth.***

Not that way where I was born! No one was “rich!” Same where dad moved us in 1956. A few rich among poor white people.

Now the economical situation has changed in this are and there are lots of well to do people.
At least, they were well to do till Biden inflated the money supply. Now there are lots of “rich” people who can’t afford a pot to pee in.
