Fascism is anything Democrats don't like

When asked to explain what Biden meant by “semi-fascism,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre went a step further and attributed the label to the entire Republican Party.

"So what we're seeing from Republicans, and what we have seen from Republicans these past several years is that they are attacking our democracy,” she told CNN. “They are taking away our freedom. And they are trying to put on the chopping blocks Medicare and Social Security. That's what we are seeing … and that is what we are trying to prevent.”

There’s no question both sides of the political aisle are drawn to hyperbole and exaggerations, but this is ridiculous. Though fascism itself is a term that has been debated ever since Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler rose to power, it is easy to say what fascism is not: It is not an ideology that advocates robust free speech and religious rights for all people, which conservatism does. It is not a political party that supports giving voters the power to decide abortion restrictions in their states, which the GOP does. It is not a movement that opposes draconian uses of federal power, such as sweeping COVID-19 vaccine mandates and costly student loan debt forgiveness, which conservatism does. And it is definitely not a political party that protests the weaponization of key institutions like Big Tech and the FBI against political dissidents, which the Republican Party does.

As George Orwell put it, “the word fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable.’” For Democrats, fascism simply means anything they don’t like, and anything that might possibly threaten their control over the governing establishment.

And Establishment Republicans. Here's a quote from Rusty Bowers

“The thought that if you don’t do what we like, then we will just get rid of you and march on and do it ourselves – that to me is fascism.”

From the Princess Bride - I don’t think (she) knows what the word means.

Democrats working with businesses to do things the Constitution prohibits the government from doing is closer to fascism then anything the Republicans are doing.

Politicians and political parties have to stand against something...they have to have an enemy.

Communists can't say their enemy is/are "anti-communists." They have to make their enemy sound evil.

Ergo, they call their natural enemy "fascists" because (1) that was the natural enemy of communism in the WWII era and (2) the word "fascist" still carries a lot of negative weight (even though people have no frikken idea what it means).

“...and what we have seen from Republicans these past several years is that they are attacking our democracy...”

The phrase “our democracy” means Leftist control of the government. With the assist of the DOJ and FBI, Democrats have cemented control of the Federal Government and any attempt to dislodge them is a threat to “our democracy” meaning “our control”.

It is primarily the authoritarian progressive left that has a soft spot for totalitarianism. Pure projection

It’s funny when I debate with progs, and they concede that Obama & Biden are strongly corporatist. They are nonetheless terrified by “fascism” on the right, like not getting involved in foreign “wars for democracy” and scaling back the US police state and a politicized legal system.

It’s bizarrely ahistorical and self-contradicting.

All of the above AND America First/MAGA Republicans oppose foreign wars of choice.

So according to the Democrats and their propagandists in the Corporate Media/Big Tech, fascists are:

- those who oppose unelected bureaucrats rather than voters deciding political issues

- Those who oppose large corporations being in bed with government

- those who oppose constant wars

- those who support free speech

- those who support an individual’s right to choose whether or not to take experimental drugs to treat the coof

- Those who think parent’s should have a say in what their kids are taught in school

- Those who want a secure border instead of allowing the regime to flout immigration laws

So in short, those who are directly opposed to everything Hitler and Mussolini stood for and did. Much like the term “racist”, “fascist” has come to mean anybody who opposes the politics of the progressive Left and nothing more.

Remember: In an Orwellian turn, Woodrow Wilson called his fascistic policies “The New Freedom”.

The modern Dem Party is built on a foundation of fascism/corporatism.

Yep. That’s Corporatism....ie literal fascism.

Government and Big Business being in bed together. Big Business doing the bidding of the state. That’s exactly what Hitler and Mussolini implemented. Unlike their cousins on the Left the Commies, they were smart enough to see that the people managing companies could probably do a much better job of it than party flunkies they would just parachute in to take over. But otherwise, companies exist just to do what the party wants.

There are many worlds the Democrats use which for long time lost their meaning and their only meaning is “we do not like you”.

Racist, bigot, homophobe, islamophobe, white supremacist, fascist, nazi, ...

Fascism, racism, homophobia, intolerant, deplorable. Democrats always need a buzzword when they can’t come up with a valid argument.
