There's a video on youtube of such an incident.The guy living at the home that was swatted can be seen outside his front door (it's late at night) confused and bewildered...not understanding what was happening.

He wound up being killed by the SWAT Team.

I first heard about SWATting in relation to the activities of Brett Kimberlin, the Speedway Bomber. He served time for his crimes and was ultimately released in 2001. Later on, people who discussed his crimes on the internet were subject to such things as SWATting and harassment lawsuits, courtesy of Kimberlin and his friends.

Especially to 911 or the cop station. I know they talk about burner phones but I thought that ever since 9/11, personal info has to be given to activate a cell phone. I know I had to with a prepaid.
