I decided to look up what the primary differences were between the Whigs and the Republicans in the 1850's, when the Whigs basically disappeared and the Republicans ended up with Abraham Lincoln. Here's what I found:

That depends on whether or not you believe Trump Democrats in the Northeast and Midwest are important or not.
