Back in the 90s Six Flags Great Adventure would still be open during the week after school started. That's when my friend and I would go. Rode the scream machine 8 times in a row without getting off. The Batman ride had only a 30 minute wait. It was the best time at a theme park I ever had.
The place had an unreasonable wait any other time. With tons of people and long lines.

October is the best time: the weather is warm but not oppressively hot, the young people are back in school, and the snowbirds haven't come down yet.
