This is so that two foxes and a hen can decide on supper.
For Pete’s sake, consider the source.
Pew Research...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
More here...
Crap poll.
People forget that the states, or colonies, formed the union and not the other way around. Those in the thirteen original colonies and the founders foresaw the problems of the large urban centers deciding all issues in the legislatures.
Had it not been for the electoral college, they probably would never have formed the union.
Sure. I’ll wager the sample size was skewed to those who live in cities and blue states.
5.56mm
So they can’t do away with the EC without a constitutional amendment.
As long as we have the EC and the process goes according to the Constitution, then we will continue to have a Republic (America - decentralized governance) not a democracy (Leftist - tyranny of the centrally-populated areas - CA, NY, FL decide every election).
agreed
So a Constitutional Amendment should be a piece of cake. But somehow nobody proposes such an Amendment. IOW...it could be that 63% of people in Kalifornia,Neuevo York,Taxachusetts and a few other states want that...but in most states it’s 10%.
Just a communist effort to dismantle bicameralism and its protections, like they did in many states with ballot proposition systems.
Okay, get the Constitution changed, then. It will take a much higher margin than that.
Well, 31 States will have something to say about that
The communists are on a 100-year, long & continuous, winning streak...
It would be sheer stupidity for them to do it and face the uncertainty of holding on to their, now absolute, control of the country...
The communists are holding aces & eights... It would be stupid for them to dump an eight and draw a card...
Particularly since the American people are in the position of having to draw four cards...
There’s a joke in here somewhere, just “electoral college” up the poll and their 63% majority doesn’t count, the 2 people from Wyoming who were polled count for a higher percentage etc
The same 63% that think 1 plus 1 can be two.
So 63% of Americans are perfectly fine with being ruled by NYC, Chicago and LA in elections.
Time to split the country. Makers here and takers there now wall it off and let the chips fall where they may.
Then 63% of U.S. voters are ignorant of the purpose of the Electoral College.
I have seen articles like this numerous times. If the Electoral College did not exist, small states need not vote.
The problem is not the Electoral College. The problem is the winner take all system implemented by most states.
Want to repair the system? Get your state to go back to proportional distribution of Electoral College votes.
Do that in every state. Then the system will work as intended.
In theory, yes. But in practice the conservative states are much less likely to engage in this criminal behavior than are the blue states.
How many of this 63 percent could even explain what the Electoral College is and the logic of the concept?
